July 2026 Edition

The Summer of Prepping

We're halfway through the year and I feel like I've accomplished so much but there's still even more to get done. My summer will have a lot of prepping and creating since I have some exciting things happening in the fall.

First thing is I will have a booth at Art on The Green on September 26! Its a bigger show than the first one I did this year and it takes place at a park I like to hang out and sketch in frequently so it feels fitting that I get to share my art there. I'm planning on selling what I had at my last show but I'm also working on getting some original sketches together as well as putting together a coloring book for sale. The coloring book will be Delaware/Chesapeake Bay themed since we've got such interesting marine & freshwater wildlife around here.

Second thing happening this fall is I will be putting on a solo exhibition of my art, my first exhibition! It will be in Chester Heights, PA at Parastudy and runs October 20th-23rd with an opening reception on the 20th. The theme is "The Wonders Below: An Exploration of the Beauty Found Deep in the Ocean". I've got some older pieces I plan to display in the exhibit but I'm also creating some new paintings of ocean creatures. Its very exciting I get to have a spot to share my art in person so I want to make sure I really push myself with the new art I'm making for this exhibit.

I've got a good amount of art I want to get done in time for this fall. Which seems a bit daunting at first but also what a good problem to have. I told myself earlier this year I wanted to put more of my art out in the world and now look at me :).

Thanks so much for joining me in this edition. Next month I will have more progress updates as well as further details for both events so you guys can come check them out!

June Highlights

Here's a sneak preview of a commission I worked on this month. This was a Koi fish created in watercolor on hot press paper. I haven't delivered it to who commissioned it, but once I do you guys will get to see the finished piece.

I honestly can't remember if I sketched this in May or June but let's just say I made this in June. I wanted to do a sort of mixed media collage with this but I haven't decided if I will color it with acrylic paint markers or maybe just ink it with pigma microns. I guess we'll just have to see next month.

October 2026 Edition My new booth setup for Art on the Green 2026! Stepping into the Spotlight Happy fall! We're now into my busy season and I've got tons to share! Art on the Green took place this past saturday after being rescheduled due to the nor'easter that came through on the original date. Despite that, I ended up really enjoying the show. Personally I think I would have liked a better booth location, i.e. right in the middle of things, but I still had great traffic to my booth with...

September 2026 Edition End of Summer Musings I feel like August was simultaneously too short but also a really long month. I made really good progress with my projects despite work commitments and a family trip but I do wish there was more time so that I would be further along with some things. But I recognize life gets in the way sometimes and I have to give myself grace when that happens and just keep it moving. My biggest project update is that my coloring book is officially done! I got my...

August 2026 Edition Finding the medium-hard difficulty Earlier this year I took some workout sessions with a personal trainer and something she said has stuck in my head and really changed my viewpoint on things. Whenever I was starting an exercise she would always remind me to check in on how I was feeling and ask myself how hard the exercise felt to me. The goal was to make sure I'm in a place where it's feels like it's medium-hard, not super hard where I burn out and cant complete the full...
